Holiday Trees
Just before Thanksgiving two white spruce trees were temporarily planted next to SamSabrina's tree. She loved this time of year; the cold, snow and decorating the Christmas Tree. Wildlife friendly ornaments have been and will continue to be added to the spruce trees. In the spring the trees will be added to the surrounding forest. Please feel free to stop by and visit the tree and add your own decorations.

Just saw this t-shirt at AMNH and thought about how much SamSabrina would have gotten a kick out of it.
SamSabrina's Hikes
As many of you know SamSabrina hiked many summers with her grandfather along the Appalachian Trail in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. There are 8 huts in that region. SamSabrina and her grandfather had stayed in six of the eight. So this summer friends and family completed the adventure and hiked to the remaining 2. First, in July, friends of Nicki's hiked to Madison Hut. They shared stories about SamSabrina and left a few of the memory stones along the route. Please see the pictures. I cannot thank Chrissy and Ben enough. It was quite a commitment and an amazing act of kindness and friendship. These two are not strangers to hiking as their adventures a few years back had them climbing Mt. Washington
(highest peak in the northeast) in the winter!
In September SamSabrina's grandfather along with her mom made the climb up Mount Galehead to the last hut. Nicki had hiked the first two years with them, including to the summit of Mt. Washington, but had not hiked for a good long while. We made it! Along the way memory stones were placed and at the top some of SamSabrina's ashes were shared. Pictures of this hike
and SamSabrina's hiking adventures are on the "Picture" page.
